Extra Curricular

Enrichment opportunities

Enrichment is at the very heart of Stratford Girls’ Grammar School and can be seen in everything we do. Opportunities that take students beyond the curriculum are embedded into school life, with every student having the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of opportunities, no matter what their area of interest.

By helping students develop their interests outside of the classroom, we foster the independence and interpersonal skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. In the Sixth Form, we dedicate Wednesday afternoons to the extended growth of students beyond academic achievements. Several Sixth Form Subject Ambassadors now run clubs for our younger students.

An active involvement in our enrichment programme has a positive impact on mental health, confidence and self-esteem and frequently, academic performance.

All of the enrichment offerings at SGGS aim to develop creativity, expand skills and knowledge, understanding and appreciation of different beliefs and cultures. We aim for students to gain a critical awareness of society and cultivate their desire to contribute to the wellbeing of others; making use of individual interests and talents by participating in a broad range of activities.

The range of opportunities in sport, music and across all areas of the school is exceptional. The links below outline the current timetable, which is constantly changing and why nearly 80% of our students regularly take part in two or more different enrichment activities at lunch or after school.

Extra Curricular activities

Our curriculum is everything our students do in school, both in and out of lessons. By helping students develop interests and abilities through our Extra Curricular programme, we enable students to develop as confident, skilled young people.

An active involvement in these opportunities has a positive impact on mental health, confidence and self-esteem and invariably academic performance. We are always looking for new opportunities to add to our programme, and encourage students to come forward with suggestions. Several Sixth Form Subject Ambassadors now run clubs for our younger students. In the Sixth Form itself, we dedicate Wednesday afternoons to the extended growth of students beyond academic achievements.

All of the Extra Curricular offerings at SGGS aim to develop creativity, expand knowledge, understanding and appreciation of different beliefs and cultures.
