SGGS' New Poet Makers and their Winning Entries.
Hundreds of girls entered the school’s National Poetry Day poetry writing competition. Using the theme of Vision young poets adopted the empathetic title See Through My Eyes to spin their lexical magic into images, ideas and emotions.
The quality of entries was, as always, outstanding. The winners of each year group have been listed below with Year 8’s Maya and Year 10’s Aparajita claiming top podium positions for lower and upper school.
Both Maya and Aparajita will now take on the inaugural shared mantle of SGGS ‘Poet Maker.’ They will be asked to compose poems throughout the academic year to celebrate significant local, national and global events.
